This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Work Order Management, LLC d/b/a Swivl (“Swivl,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information through:
- swivl.tech and all subdomains (the “Sites”)
- Swivl mobile applications (the “Mobile App”)
- Swivl web-based contractor business management applications (the “Web App”)
Collectively, these are referred to as the “Services.”
This Policy applies to Visitors, Contractors, Contractor Users, and End Customers and is incorporated into the Swivl Terms of Service.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge and agree to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Services.
This Policy does not govern third-party services or websites. Please review third-party privacy policies before providing information to them.
2. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted at https://swivl.tech/privacy-policy, as indicated by the “Last Modified” date.
Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
We may also provide just-in-time disclosures or supplemental notices for specific features (including AI-powered features).
3. Our Relationship to You
Understanding Swivl’s role is important:
- Contractors / Pros – Registered users of Swivl’s contractor services. Swivl acts as:
- A data processor for End Customer data processed on behalf of Contractors
- A data controller for Contractor Users
- Contractor Users – Authorized users under a Contractor account.
- End Customers – Individuals who receive services from Contractors using Swivl. Swivl processes End Customer data solely on behalf of Contractors and according to their instructions.
- Visitors – Individuals accessing the Sites or submitting information through forms, demos, blogs, or surveys. Swivl acts as a data controller.
Contractors, Contractor Users, End Customers, and Visitors may be referred to collectively as “you.”
4. Personal Information We Collect
“Personal Information” means information that identifies or relates to an identifiable individual.
Anonymized or aggregated data is not Personal Information and may be used for any lawful purpose.
A. Information from Visitors
We collect:
- Contact Information (e.g., name, email, phone)
- Performance & Log Data (IP address, browser, pages visited)
- Cookies & Tracking Data (subject to consent where required)
B. Information from Contractors & Contractor Users
We collect:
- Account & Business Information
- Billing & Financial Information (processed via third parties)
- Public Records, Credit Bureaus & ID Verification
- Transaction & Usage Data
- Authorized User Information
- End Customer Information entered by Contractors
- Device & Geolocation Data (with permission)
C. Information from End Customers
Collected solely to provide Services on behalf of Contractors:
- Contact & transaction information
- Location data (with permission)
- Information provided directly to Swivl
5. How We Use Personal Information
We use Personal Information to:
- Provide and operate the Services
- Configure accounts and deliver features
- Generate estimates, invoices, and schedules
- Facilitate payment processing
- Qualify and underwrite Contractors
- Enforce Terms and prevent fraud
- Maintain legal and regulatory compliance
- Improve usability, performance, and security
- Communicate with users
AI & Product Improvement
We may use Personal Information and usage data (in aggregated or anonymized form where feasible) to:
- Improve, test, and train machine learning and AI models
- Develop new features, analytics, benchmarks, and insights
AI training and analytics are conducted as internal business purposes, not as a sale of data.
6. Mobile App: Location & Workforce Activity Tracking
The Swivl Mobile App collects location data and limited operational activity information to support workforce management features.
Precise GPS Location
GPS location may be collected when a technician clocks in or clocks out of a job. This information is used for time verification, job costing, and workforce management. Location collection occurs only during active use of the clock-in or job tracking feature and requires user permission.
Operational Activity Data
The app may record timestamps and work-session activity events related to job tracking and scheduling. This data is used only for operational workforce management and task tracking.
Data Sharing
Location and operational activity data are visible only to the contractor or organization managing the technician’s work. This data is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
Health Data
The Swivl Mobile App does not collect, access, or process any health, fitness, medical, or wellness data. The app does not integrate with Google Fit, Health Connect, or any other health data platforms.
7. Automated Data Collection
We collect technical data automatically, including:
- IP address
- Device identifiers
- Browser type and language
- Usage patterns
- Referring URLs
- Session activity
8. Advertising & Analytics Technologies
The Swivl Mobile App and Sites use third-party advertising and analytics tools. These technologies may collect device identifiers and usage data to help us measure app performance and the effectiveness of our advertising.
- Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4): We use Firebase to collect app usage events, session data, device information, and crash reports. Data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
- Meta Conversions API (CAPI): We use Meta’s Conversions API to measure advertising performance. This may involve transmitting hashed identifiers (such as email address or phone number) to Meta for conversion matching. Data is processed by Meta in accordance with Meta’s data policy.
- Advertising Identifiers: On iOS devices, we may use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for ad attribution and measurement. On Android devices, we may use the Google Advertising ID (GAID) for similar purposes. These identifiers are used only with your consent where required.
- iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before accessing your IDFA for cross-app tracking. You may grant or deny this permission at any time in your device Settings.
9. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Swivl uses:
- Strictly necessary & functional cookies within the Services
- Analytics and marketing cookies on public Sites
Users accessing from the EU/UK are provided opt-out controls for non-essential cookies.
10. Payments & Third-Party Integrations
Swivl integrates with third-party payment processors (“Payments Services”). When enabled, data may be shared with those providers.
All Payments Services providers are contractually required to comply with:
- PCI DSS
- NACHA rules (for ACH)
Swivl does not control third-party privacy practices.
11. How We Share Information
We share Personal Information only as necessary:
- With Contractors (for End Customer data)
- With service providers performing Services on our behalf
- With advertising & analytics partners (Google/Firebase, Meta) for ad measurement and app analytics
- With referral or marketing partners (where permitted)
- In corporate transactions (merger, acquisition)
- For legal, regulatory, or safety purposes
We apply a minimum necessary disclosure standard.
Swivl does not sell End Customer Personal Information.
12. Data Retention
We retain Personal Information as follows:
- Contractors & Contractor Users: While active and thereafter as needed
- End Customer Data: As directed by Contractors; may be indefinite
- Marketing Data: Until you unsubscribe
- Cookie Data: Up to one year
- Call Recordings: Up to six (6) years
- Anonymized/Aggregate Data: Indefinitely
13. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information.
Swivl does not store or process bank account or card numbers directly. Payment data is handled by PCI-compliant third parties.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact account-services@swivl.tech immediately.
14. Choices & Opt-Outs
You may:
- Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link
- Uninstall the Mobile App to stop mobile data collection
- Disable cookies through browser controls (where applicable)
- iOS: Deny or revoke App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Android: Reset or opt out of your Google Advertising ID via Settings → Google → Ads
- Disable location access for the Swivl app via your device Settings at any time

California residents may request information regarding disclosure of Personal Information for direct marketing purposes.
Swivl does not sell Personal Information under the CCPA.

Swivl does not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.

Swivl acts as:
- Data Controller for Visitors, Contractors, Contractor Users
- Data Processor for End Customer data
Residents have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, portability, and lodge complaints.

19. International Transfers
Data may be transferred to the United States or other jurisdictions with different data protection laws. By using the Services, you consent to such transfers.
